Title Checks:

The Waterloo Marshal's Office will provide vehicle title checks upon request. Vehicles located within town limits can be checked at the vehicle location. Vehicles located outside of the town limits must be brought to the Marshal's department or contact the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department.

Handgun Permits

All handgun permits are issued by the Marshal's Clerk's at the Office.

To be issued a gun permit the following steps are necessary:

1. Background check
This normally takes 5 working days. To begin this process you must complete the background check form and return it to the Waterloo Marshal's Office.

2. State Application Form
After the background check is completed and approved by the Town Marshal you must then complete the State Handgun Permit Application. Upon completion you need to mail this form to the State Of Indiana for approval. Your handgun permit will be mailed to you within 4 to 6 weeks by the State.

3. Cost
Personal Protection Permits permits cost $25.00. $15.00 is payable to the State of Indiana and $10.00 is payable to the Waterloo Marshal's Office. Starting July 2006 the State of Indiana is offering Life time permits check at the office for prices.

Hunting and Target Permits cost $15.00. $5.00 is payable to the State of Indiana
and $10.00 is payable to the Waterloo Marshal's Office.

Payments to the State of Indiana must be in the form of a Postal Money Order or
Certified Check.

OBTAINING AN ACCIDENT REPORT: Any person involved in an accident within the Town of Waterloo can obtain a copy of their accident report at the Waterloo Marshal's Office. 

FEE: There is a $5.00 administration fee for each accident report released.

 OBTAINING AN INCIDENT REPORT:   Any person wanting a copy of an Incident investigated by the Waterloo Marshal's office may obtain a copy by paying a fee of $5.00.  If the Incident is still under investigation or waiting on prosecution then no copies will be released without a court order.
